Faret Tachikawa Art Museum Day 2023 Autumn

The “Faret Tachikawa” district at the north exit of Tachikawa Station, which has 109 pieces of public art by 92 artists from 36 countries around the world, will be transformed into an art museum, and various programs will be held. Please come and visit Faret Tachikawa, Tachikawa’s world-class public art town.

Date:Saturday, Oct 7th and Sunday, Oct 8th, 2023.
*Headquarters will be established only on the Sunday, Oct 8th.

Tour play “Faret Ruins Adventure”

A new outdoor play by Tachikawa Sozosha will be performed.
<<In the future, 3000 AD, the Faret district has become a tourist destination that has been excavated and restored as an ancient ruin. Let’s adventure with a futuristic guide along the mysterious approach to the “ancient sacred place” in the center.>>

Workshop ① Photogenic art★Walking workshop

Take photogenic photos with your smartphone while strolling through the art at Faret Tachikawa! You can put your favorite photo in a photo frame and take it home as a piece of art. The lecturer is Mio Kobayashi, an art director active mainly in Tama area.

Workshop ② Let’s make it by pounding it! spoonful screw keychain

Why not make a key chain with a name or message engraved on it by hammering a familiar stainless steel spoon like a blacksmith? You can have a valuable experience under the guidance of iron maker Atsushi Ozawa.
*You can bring your own stainless steel spoon.

Art Tour

This is an art guided tour where the Faret Club, a volunteer group with extensive knowledge of Faret Tachikawa Art, introduces works. You can listen to stories from various works and writers.

Exhibition “Elementary School Faret Tachikawa Art Appreciation” Report Exhibition

After viewing Faret Tachikawa Art as part of their arts and crafts class, 5th graders at Tachikawa City Elementary School will present the works they created as part of their post-curricular learning.
This time, we will be exhibiting the works of students from Dainana Elementary School. Please take a look at the children’s sensibilities stimulated by Faret Tachikawa Art.

Exhibition “9th Faret Tachikawa Art Photo Contest” winning works exhibition

Out of 138 entries, 13 winning entries were selected, including the Grand Prize, Special Jury Prize, and Citizen’s Prize, based on a popularity vote and a review by the Faret Tachikawa Art Management Committee.

There will also be food trucks selling crepes and kebabs etc.

Mulberry Field BOOK CAFE CARAVAN
Mulberry Field, a book cafe loved by locals in Akishima, will be opened at Faret Tachikawa. Focusing on books about art, you can find books that stimulate your desire for knowledge and color your life. Why not relax and enjoy a book with hand-drip coffee or an original sandwich only available at the outside book cafe?

■ Electric kickboard test drive event

Electric kickboards are something you often see around town and are curious about, but it takes a lot of courage to rent one out of the blue. Starting from July of this year, anyone over the age of 16 can drive without a license. Master the traffic rules and operating methods to have fun riding!
